Akhmed Pogorov detained in Ingushetia

Akhmed Pogorov, one of the leaders of the Ingush opposition, was detained in Karabulak after 5.5 months of search.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 27, 2019, Akhmed Pogorov, a co-chair of the World Congress of the Ingush People and a former head of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), was put on the federal wanted list within the case of the March protest action in Magas. Law enforcers conducted at least eight searches in houses of Pogorov and his relatives.

Finally, law enforcers found Pogorov in his ancestral house in Karabulak and carried out "a whole operation using force units" to detain him, the "Kommersant" writes citing its own source.

The first information about Pogorov's detention appeared in the evening on October 11 in anonymous Telegram channels associated with law enforcers. "In Ingushetia, the former MIA head, Akhmed Pogorov, has been detained," the channel "Northern Caucasus" reported at 22:01 p.m. Moscow time.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no confirmation and cannot verify this information.
