"Alternative": two men escape from slavery in Dagestan

Activists of the anti-slavery movement "Alternative" helped two men, who managed to escape from labour slavery in Dagestan, to leave for Moscow.

On September 25, on its Facebook page, the "Alternative" reported that one of the men who escaped from slavery, worked for 2.5 months for free in a quarry in the village of Novye Vikri instead of the promised work in greenhouses near Makhachkala. Another man was going to work on a construction site for 20,000 roubles a month in Makhachkala, but had to graze sheep for free in the Khasavyurt District for half-month.

"The men escaped from 'slavery,' and they hitch-hiked to get to Makhachkala. And there our colleague helped them. Now, they are already on their way to Moscow," the "Alternative" reports.
