Anniversary of terror act in Beslan makes Volgograd residents think about children's safety in schools
Mourning services and commemoration events of those who perished in Beslan were held on Tuesday in Volgograd. The young residents of the city interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent said that they lacked knowledge about the terror act, while adult Volgograd residents told about their concern of children's safety in schools.
Russia has declared September 3 as the Solidarity Day in Fight against Terrorism; it was established in 2005 in connection with the tragic events on September 1-3, 2004, in Beslan.
Memorial services were held in all the churches of the Volgograd Diocese, Archpriest Sergiy Alfyorov, the head of the information division of the Diocese, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Volgograd residents treat the Beslan terror act as the most inhuman; the tragedy anniversary recalls the need to strictly observe the children's safety measures in schools.
Beslan will remind about itself for many decades to come, Alexei Ulyanov, an activist and a father of four children, believes.
