Ksenia Sobchak treats help to victims as aim of her film about Beslan terror act

Ksenia Sobchak, an oppositional politician and journalist, has presented a documentary, in which former hostages told about how the terror act in Beslan affected their lives. More than 40,000 people have responded to the call to sign a petition in support of the law on terror act victims. The authorities need to disclose the truth about the terror act in order to regain people's trust, Olga Allyonova, the author of the new book about the tragedy, is sure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, mourning events began in North Ossetia on the 15th anniversary of the Beslan tragedy.

The documentary "Beslan. Day of Non-Knowledge" is posted on the Sobchak YouTube channel. Among its heroes is Susanna Dudieva, the head of the "Beslan Mothers" Committee, who had her son perished and her daughter wounded in the school. Bela Avsanova said that 15 years ago she was wounded in the head during the terror act, and then learned to walk and talk anew.

Earlier, Yuri Dud, a video blogger, also posted a documentary about the Beslan terror act on his YouTube channel.

Ms Sobchak has noted that Russia has no law on the status of a "terror act victim", and urged people to sign the petition created by her on the "Change.org" website demanding to adopt such a law.

In September 2017, members of the "Beslan Mothers" Committee announced problems faced by terror act victims with employment and housing.

By the 15th anniversary of the terror act, the book entitled "Outpost. Beslan and Its Hostages" by Olga Allyonova, a "Kommersant" journalist, was published. She tells about her meetings with mothers of Beslan in April, which showed "how much pain they still have."
