Journalists tell about Russian special services' trace in Khangoshvili's murder

The alleged killer of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, a native of the Pankisi Gorge, arrived in Germany by the passport to the name of Vadim Sokolov, a resident of Saint Petersburg, but there is no such person in the databases, the authors of an international journalistic investigation have stated. The Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, called on European Chechens to hold a protest action in Berlin with a demand of an inquiry into Khangoshvili's murder.

The above 49-year-old Russian citizen was arrested on suspicion of committing the murder. German investigators are working through the version of political motives for the murder' while intelligence agencies of several NATO countries do not rule out the involvement of Russian agents in the crime, German mass media have reported.

The press secretary of the Russian president has stated that Russian authorities have nothing to do with Khangoshvili's murder.

The journalists of the Insider, Bellingcat and Der Spiegel have found that, by a number of signs, the man arrested within the case of Khangoshvili's murder was connected with Russian special services. It is noted that without support of special services, he would have hardly received a visa and passed the border control by this document.

It is also noted that the arrested man has specific tattoos, which may indicate his status of a criminal authority.

The Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has suggested that without vigorous public actions, German authorities will try to "hush down" the Khangoshvili's case to avoid a loud international scandal.

Khangoshvili's name wasn't popular in Chechnya, although he took part in the second Chechen War, the residents of the republic interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" assert.
