POC chair visits persons arrested after shootout in Krasnodar

Two natives of Chechnya and a native of Ingushetia, detained after a mass fight with shooting in Krasnodar, do not complain about the conditions of detention in SIZO (pre-trial prison), reports the chair of the Public Observation Commission (POC) for the Krasnodar Territory. Members of the POC could not visit other two detainees.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that one of the Chechens detained in Krasnodar was tortured, reported Ruslan Kutaev, the chairman of the "Assembly of the Peoples of the Caucasus". The father of arrested Khalid Khamidov stated that his son and another detainee were beaten.

A native of Dagestan was killed in Krasnodar in the conflict on August 21. Only natives of Chechnya were arrested, while other participants of the incident remain at large, note relatives of the detainees.

The POC of the Krasnodar Territory received a complaint from the relatives of the arrested men, and on August 29, members of the POC came to the SIZO and visited three out of the five persons involved in the case. The POC members discovered no violations, reported Anzaur Akhidjak, the chair of the POC.

According to him, two more persons are being kept in Adler, and they are to be brought to Krasnodar on September 4. Anzaur Akhidjak added that the three arrested men whom he visited in the SIZO were accused of disorderly conduct.
