Law enforcers: natives of Chechnya and Dagestan detained after firing in Krasnodar

Five suspects involved in a shootout near the market in Krasnodar are detained in Sochi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MA) reports today. In a video posted by law enforcers, the detainees said that they had arrived in the resort city on vacation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on August 21, a conflict with involvement of several dozen people took place near the Vishnyakov marketplace in Krasnodar. A local resident, a native of Dagestan, was killed in a shootout.

Five suspects involved in the shootout are detained in Sochi, confirms today Alexander Runov, the head of the press service for the MIA's Chief Department for the Krasnodar Territory.

Today, a video fragment with a questioning of two detainees has been posted by the "Kuban News" on Instagram. The video shows two men who answer questions from a person behind the scene. When asked about the purpose of "arriving in the city of Sochi," one of the men answered: "To have a rest."

Let us remind you that, according to the law enforcement bodies, the shootout occurred as a result of a criminal fight, and not an ethnic conflict. In their turn, natives of Chechnya and Dagestan spoke about interethnic tension in Krasnodar.
