Believers tell about raid near Makhachkala mosque

Law enforcers have set up three posts at the "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala and checked believers' cars leaving after the Friday namaz (prayer). Nobody was brought to the police stations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

Law enforcers are regularly conducting their raids on Fridays in the vicinity of the "Tangim" Mosque. Periodically, believers are taken to police stations. In March 2019, the mosque workers complained to the prosecutor's office, after which there were fewer detentions; however, raids did not stop. On August 2, mobile patrols checked visitors' documents after the prayer, but passed without detentions.

On Friday, August 9, policemen checked motorists for violations, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Journalist, Idris Yusupov, has noted that law enforcers are compiling, during their checks on roads, additional lists of believers for subsequent data processing.
