LGBT activist claims being attacked at picket in Rostov-on-Don
On July 31, Rostov activist Anna Dvornichenko sought the help of doctors after being attacked during a picket in defence of members of the LGBT community, the activist herself reported.
In the evening on July 31, activist Anna Dvornichenko held a solo picket at the entrance to Gorky Park in Rostov-on-Don. In her hands, the activist was holding a banner reading: "LGBT activist Elena Grigorieva was killed. Stop homo/bi/transphobic killings!"
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 21, the body of Elena Grigorieva, who spoke in defence of the rights of LGBT people, was found in Saint Petersburg with stab wounds and signs of strangulation.
According to Anna Dvornichenko, her picket lasted almost an hour, as planned. Passers-by showed signs of their approval, but in the last minutes of the picket, a man ran up to her, sprayed some liquid in her face with a scream: "Down with Sodom and Gomorrah!" and ran away, the "Donnews.ru" reports today.
Ambulance doctors took the activist to the hospital, where eye drops were prescribed to her and she was discharged home.
