Ostentatious help on behalf of Kadyrov emphasizes his claims to look as "rights defender"

Ramzan Kadyrov’s demonstrative help to the needy with broadcasting reports on TV is a common method of self-promotion, but the real relief of people's lives justifies this practice, rights defenders believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that authorities solved the everyday problems of the 80-year-old Khamid Lorsanov, who receives no help from his children, and reported about it on the "Grozny" TV channel. The difficulties suffered by the old man were used by the authorities for self-promotion, local residents have suggested.

Ramzan Kadyrov voiced out new threats addressed to rights defenders, stating that they are "worse than terrorists." Oleg Orlov and Svetlana Gannushkina have stated that Kadyrov's words mean a threat to the lives of rights defenders in different regions of Russia.

Kadyrov treats himself as the guardian of the Chechen national self-identity; and this is the root of his acute conflict with rights defenders, Maxim Shevchenko, a journalist, believes.

"The rights defenders, who stand out from the standpoint of the liberal European civil law, which has a completely different attitude to the links of the concepts of 'personality' and 'traditional values' are unacceptable for him," Mr Shevchenko has stated.

Kadyrov's demonstrative help to people are his self-promotion, but this is a positive phenomenon, Igor Kalyapin, the head of the Committee against Torture (CaT) believes.

"No matter for what reasons they are doing good things; it's important that they do them," Mr Kalyapin has explained.

He believes that creation of similar funds on a voluntary basis in other regions would be useful.
