Dagestan: two men shot dead in shootout

Two supporters of the terrorist organization "Islamic State (IS), banned in Russia by the court, were killed in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, the Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) has reported.

The incident occurred on June 22 at about 10:00 p.m. between the villages of Endirei and Karlanyurt.

Policemen tried to stop a VAZ 2109 car with two men inside. "In response to the demand to lay down arms and surrender, they opened fire. As a result of the shootout, both criminals were neutralized," the "Interfax" quotes the NAC's statement.

Nobody suffered from among policemen and civilians. The casualties turned to be residents of Makhachkala. A submachine gun and a pistol were found at the place of the shootout.

According to the NAC, the bandits had planned to "attack on law enforcers."
