Azerbaijan claims missile attack from NKR

The fire from the anti-aircraft missile complex was opened during exercises held near the border with the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported. In its turn, the MoD of the unrecognized republic (the NKR) declared a violation of the flight zone by Azerbaijan aviation.

The Azerbaijan MoD has reported about an attempt to bring down, by missiles, an aircraft of the Azerbaijani Air Forces on the border with the NKR. The incident occurred on June 12 during training flights over the Fizuli section of the frontline. Two missiles fired from the "Osa" complex failed to hit targets and self-liquidated in the air.

Earlier, the NKR's MoD denied the accusations of shelling attacks of pre-border Azerbaijani territories from mortars, and called on Azerbaijan to refrain from provocations. According to the MoD, there are also more flights of Azerbaijani aviation, which break the established flight zone.

In response, David Tonoyan, the head of the Armenian MoD, said that the Armenian party is also flying drones.
