Russian authorities suspend the work of Ingush Council of Teips

By the decision of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) of the Russian Federation, the activities of the Council of Teips (family clans) of the Ingush people are suspended for three months. However, Murad Daskiev, the interim head of the council, has stated that they will not stop their work.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Malsag Uzhakhov, the head of the Ingush Council of Teips, was arrested within the case of using violence against policemen during the March rally in Magas. The acting head of the council was detained on May 16 and accused of spreading fake news and participating in an unauthorized march in 2018.

The MoJ has prescribed to suspend the activities of the Ingush Council of Teips, Murad Daskiev gas stated today, noting, however, that the council will continue working, despite the prescription, the "MBKh Media" has informed today.

The MoJ has issued a warning to the Council of Teips in connection with its appeal to the parliament concerning the territorial belonging of the Prigorodny District. The MoJ has treated this appeal as an extremist one. The Council of Teips should eliminate the violation by July 22, the Telegram channel "FortangaORG" informs.

Let us note here that on May 23, the MoJ launched an unscheduled inspection of the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr", whose leadership had also participated in protests. The extraordinary inspection has to do with the authorities' campaign against activists, "Mashr" members believe. On May 27, law enforcers also conducted searches in the Ingush branch of the Red Cross.
