According to the human rights activist, the prisoner himself has applied on this to the prison administration.

E. Bekhbudov has noted that P. Siradjov's relatives allege that he is afraid to be arrested in Azerbaijan and therefore he prefers to be sent to Europe.

"When communicating with his family via the "Red Cross" organization, P. Siradjov said that he did not want to return to Azerbaijan as he might be arrested by the country's law enforcement agencies. Previously P. Siradjov expressed his wish to be sent to Russia but, according to the latest information, he will be passed to Holland," reported E. Bekhbudov to Day.Az.

"As the Polad's family reports, approximately in a week's time he is going to be set free from Guantanamo, and in the meantime he is undergoing treatment at a "Red Cross" rehabilitation centre," said E. Bekhbudov.

For reference, Polad Siradjov, born in Azerbaijan, was detained by American soldiers in Afghanistan and was suspected of ties with the "Al-Qaeda" terrorist organization. He studied in Turkey, worked for some time as an interpreter from Turkish in a construction company in Moscow.
