Chechen authorities hold mass commemoration of Kadyrov's teacher

Vera Deryabina, the mother of Abubakar Edelgeriev, now an advisor to President Vladimir Putin, the former teacher of Akhmat and Ramzan Kadyrov, has been buried in the Kadyrovs' ancestral village. Thousands of people, including the republic's leadership, arrived to commemorate the teacher.

Vera Deryabina was 74 years old; she perished on May 17 in a car accident in the Krasnodar Territory. Her body was taken to Chechnya by helicopter; the funeral was held on May 18.

Numerous officials arrived at the commemoration in the village of Tsentaroi: heads of the republic's ministries and agencies, cities and districts, residents of the Kurchaloi District told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The Tezet (commemoration) in the Edelgeriev family was attended by thousands of people: first of all, local residents – several generations of Vera Deryabina's pupils, all the republic's leaders; many people came from other places," Isa, a local resident, told the "Caucasian Knot".

Vakhid, another local resident, has added that Khabib Nurmagomedov, a well-known fighter, a native of Dagestan, was among those who visited the Tezet. "There were the head of the republic, the top officials of the Ministry of Education, and her former pupils," he said.
