Ingushetia: Akhmed Pogorov's relatives released after search

Magomed, a brother of Akhmed Pogorov, a co-chairman of the World Congress of the Ingush People, was fined for participating in protests in Magas; two other relatives of the activist were released without drawing up protocols.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 17, in the city of Karabulak, law enforcers searched the houses of Akhmed Pogorov and his relatives. Two Pogorov's nephews and his brother were detained.

Mr Pogorov has noted that before law enforcers' visit to him he called on the authorities of Ingushetia to help in releasing the arrested activists.

His detained relatives were taken to the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Magas, the capital of Ingushetia. His nephew Bilan was released because he is a visually impaired person, a source said.

In relation to Magomed Pogorov, Akhmed's brother, law enforcers drew up a protocol and imposed a fine of 10,000 roubles for his participation in protest actions in October 2018, the "MBKh-Media" reports.
