Akhmed Pogorov promises to pay fines for Ingush activists

Akmed Pogorov, the co-chairman of the World Congress of the Ingush People, made a video appeal to the people, in which he called the events that took place in a square in Magas a provocation and promised to pay all the fines imposed on activists.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after protest actions in Magas on March 26, three protest leaders Akhmed Barakhoev, Musa Malsagov, and Barakh Chemurziev were sentenced to administrative arrests. On April 4, Elder Akhmed Barakhoev went on hunger strike. A criminal case was instituted against other nine people on the use of violence against law enforcers.

On April 7, a video message from Akmed Pogorov, the co-chairman of the World Congress of the Ingush People, to the public in Ingushetia was published on the YouTube channel of the Council of Teips of the Ingush People.

According to Akmed Pogorov, members of the Congress will try "to visit all the relatives of the detained and fined activists." "By the will of Allah, we will pay those fines for them," noted Akmed Pogorov.

He has also noted that "appeals have already been prepared to challenge all the imposed fines and arrests."

Akmed Pogorov called the events that took place at the rally a provocation and reported that appropriate appeals had been filed to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and the National Guard of Russia.
