Organizer of Magas rally sentenced to 10 days of arrest

Today, the court has found that Barakh Chemurziev, the head of the movement "Support of Ingushetia", had violated the rules for organizing a rally in Magas.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, after searches and a series of detentions of Ingush activists, three activists from among the protest leaders have been sentenced to administrative arrests for 10 days.

The law enforcers, who searched the Barakh Chemurziev's house today, behaved correctly and assured that they were taking him away with them for questioning, the "Caucasian Knot" was informed by a wife of the activist.

Barakh Chemurziev was sentenced to 10 days of the administrative arrest, a source of the "Caucasian Knot" in Ingushetia reported.

The above information was also confirmed by an official from of the Magas District Court. He also reported that the court imposed a fine of 20,000 roubles on Akhmet Pogorov, the co-chairman of the Congress of the Ingush People, and a fine of 150,000 roubles  on Malsag Uzhakhov, the chairman of the Council of Teips of the Ingush People.

Let us remind you that on March 26, the protesters continued without a sanction from the authorities the protest action in Magas organized by the "Support of Ingushetia", and that led to clashes with law enforcers.
