Investigators explain Nurov's links with metro explosions
In 2010, Magomed Nurov, the arrested resident of Dagestan, helped Gusen Magomedov, who was then wanted for taking part in organizing explosions in Moscow metro, to escape, investigators believe.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported, citing the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), that on March 27, in Dagestan, Magomed Nurov was detained on suspicion of involvement in explosions in Moscow metro in 2010. He was convoyed to Moscow, where the Basmanny Court arrested him until May 27.
The bombings at the "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury" metro stations occurred in the morning on March 29, 2010. As a result, 40 people were killed and more than 100 were injured. According to the secret services, the terror acts were committed by Dagestani native Maryam Sharipova, a wife of Magomedali Vagabov, one of the leaders of Dagestani militants, and 17-year-old Jennet Abdurakhmanova, a widow of Umalat Magomedov, a leader of Dagestani militants, who was killed in late December 2009.
According to investigators, in 2010, Magomed Nurov helped Gusen Magomedov, who is considered by law enforcers to be the direct perpetrator of the terror act in Moscow, to escape.
Nurov confessed to giving Magomedov a lift, but denied his participation both in the terror act itself and in the armed underground, the "Kommersant" writes today, on March 29.
According to the intelligence services, in 2010, Magomedov accompanied Sharipova and Abdurakhmanova from Dagestan to Moscow, and, according to records of video surveillance cameras, drove one of the female suicide bombers into the metro. Law enforcers sought him for organizing the terror act in Moscow. On February 6, 2013, Gusen Magomedov, according to the Russia's National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), was killed during a shootout in the vicinity of the village of Kadyrkent, Sergokalin District of Dagestan.
