Volgograd activist calls on Putin to resign
Olga Karpukhnova has stated at a picket, held in Volgograd, that constitutional rights of Russian citizens are violated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Olga Karpukhnova had repeatedly participated in protest actions in Volgograd. At the pickets, she stated the plight of townspeople, accused the authorities of being indifferent to people's problems, and protested against the persecution of activists.
On March 2, Olga Karpukhnova continued the series of her solo Saturday pickets. From 1 to 3 p.m., she stood in the Alley of Heroes with the posters "Putin, resign!", "We earned pensions, but can't live on them" and "No to Putinism!"
"President is the guarantor of citizens' constitutional rights. <...> People's rights in Russia are violated. Putin must leave voluntarily before the situation in the country gets out of control. We want neither war nor revolution. A peaceful power transfer is the only desirable scenario. I ask him to resign," Ms Karpukhnova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
