CTO in Derbent District of Dagestan becomes the second one in 10 months

Today, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced for the first time in Dagestan in 2019. Law enforcers are searching for militants in the Derbent District today. Recently, the CTO legal regime was introduced in Derbent and its surroundings in April 2018.

According to the operational headquarters of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), law enforcers are searching for militants and their accomplices.

Earlier, on April 21, 2018, during the CTO held in the Derbent District, nine suspected militants were killed and one law enforcer was wounded. On April 24, 2018, in the forest between the villages of Chinar and Gedjukh, law enforcers came across a dugout and shot dead two armed men during a shootout.
