Woman suspected of organizing IS* unit arrested in Astrakhan
According to the Russia's FSB, the detained woman-resident of the Astrakhan Region was one of the organizers of the secret unit of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State", banned in Russia by the court. She is suspected of financing terrorists, investigators have stated.
According to their data, since 2016, a resident of the Kamyzyak District, Astrakhan Region, was raising money through social networks for the needs of the IS* in Moscow, Astrakhan, Tomsk and a number of subjects of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD). "The total amount of funds raised in such a way was at least one million roubles," the Investigating Department (ID) for the Astrakhan Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported.
"During searches of her residence, mobile phones, in which textual and voice messages were found containing conversations about the transfer of funds raised for militants, and payment cards were seized," the ID's website has informed today.
According to special services, the woman was one of the organizers of a secret IS* unit, the TASS reports with reference to the FSB's Public Relations Centre.
