Poland to deport native of Chechnya for links with IS*

A native of Chechnya was detained in Poland on suspicion of having links with terrorist organizations; the authorities are preparing to extradite him to Russia.

His detention took place on January 30, but it was not reported for security reasons, Stanislav Zharyn, the press secretary of the minister, who coordinates the work of the security services in the Polish government, has explained.

According to the Polish special services, the detainee maintained contacts with the "Islamic State"*, and with other terrorist organizations. The court judgement to deport him has already been made, the Polish Press Agency has reported today.

* "Islamic State" (IS) is a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court
