Oyub Titiev's defence demands to check signatures to police protocols

Some documents were signed by the boss, who had no right to sign them, the defence of Oyub Titiev, the head of the Grozny office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", and demanded to conduct a handwriting examination.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 6, one of Titiev's advocates filed a motion demanding to exclude the protocol of the investigative experiment that recreated the picture of drug detection in Oyub's car from the case files. According to advocates, the picture was recreated incorrectly.

Today, the lady judge has refused to satisfy the defence's motion and invalidate the protocol of the investigative experiment. According to the court, the defence's arguments were not convincing.

The advocate Pyotr Zaikin asked the court to conduct a handwriting examination of a number of documents. The problem is in signatures of police bosses, the HRC "Memorial" reports in its Telegram channel.

If the documents had been signed by unauthorized persons, they should be recognized as inadmissible proofs, the HRC "Memorial" notes.
