Son of Dagestani official accuses doctors of failure to help his father
Gagarin Omarov, a deputy head of the Kizilyurt District administration and a former deputy of the Prosecutor of Khasavyurt, was taken to hospital, where he fell into a coma and died. His son, a resident of Khasavyurt, has complained in social networks about doctors' slowness and failure to render timely help to his father.
The complaint was posted on January 5 in the public "echo_dagestana" on the Instagram and described the shortcomings of the staff of the Khasavyurt hospital. According to the son's story, his father waited for an ambulance for about 40 minutes; and then he had to go to two intensive care units, since "there were no places" in the first one.
Social network users have perceived the situation, in which the complaint author found himself, with sympathy and indignation.
Mr Omarov died on January 6 in the hospital at the age of 57.
The message was responded to by Djamaludin Gadjiibragimov, the Minister of Public Health of Dagestan, who has noted that "in no case should a seriously ill patient look for doctors, and wait for hours until they pay attention to him," and pointed to "the shortcomings in the work of the hospital."
