Azerbaijan reports machine gun fire at eight villages
The Azerbaijani positions in the Karabakh conflict zone, including in the border villages, have been shelled 46 times over a day, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan reports today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 1, the Azerbaijani MoD reported about 30 cases of shelling in the conflict zone, and a day earlier, on December 31, 2018, about 29 cases of shelling. On December 31, the Ministry of Defence for Nagorno-Karabakh stated that in 2018, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire regime more than 10,000 times.
Over 24 hours, the ceasefire regime in the conflict zone was violated 46 times, and the Azerbaijani positions were shelled from large-calibre machine guns, the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD reports today.
Positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the villages of Kemerli, Ferekhli, Gushchu Airym, Ashagy Askipara, Gyzylgadjyly, Jafarli, Bala Jafarli, Zamanly, and on nameless heights were shelled from both the Armenian side and from the territories "near the occupied villages," the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its website.
