Court refuses to consider complaint of Circassian activist Topchu

Tarik Topchu was too late to appeal against the abolition of his residence permit, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has ruled.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, 2018, the KBR's MIA annulled the Tarik Topchu's residence permit in Russia. The case has been considered by the KBR's DC behind closed doors, as the judge has explained that the case file contain some state secrets.

The court found that the deadline for lodging an appeal was missed, said Beslan Khagazhei, an advocate.

Earlier, Mr Topchu said that he was a Circassian activist and journalist. According to his story, in 2007, he began working as a columnist for the edition "CircasianCanada"; three years later he began his cooperation with the "Cherkessia.net"; and since 2014, he has been publishing his materials in the "İnfoCherkessia".
