President Putin instructs ICRF to investigate Gasanguseinov brothers' case

During the today's press conference in Moscow, while answering a question from a Dagestani journalist, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to "give necessary attention" to the case on the killing of the Gasanguseinov brothers in Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, 2016, the 17-year-old and 19-year-old sons of Murtazali Gasanguseinov from the village of Goor-Khindakh were killed in the Shamil District. Law enforcers declared that the brothers were militants; however, the brothers' fellow villagers insisted that they had nothing to do with militants.

Parents of the Gasanguseinov brothers regularly go on pickets to draw attention to the case on the killing of their sons.

The question in the case on the murder of the Gasanguseinov brothers was asked to Vladimir Putin by Elena Yeskina, a reporter of the GTRK (State TV and Radio Company) "Dagestan". The journalist briefly reported that at first, the shepherds were called militants, and then it turned out that the brothers were not involved in the armed underground and the case was reclassified and transferred to Moscow.

"However, unfortunately, they do not put an end to the case. Please take the investigation into the case [...] under your personal control and please rehabilitate those guys as soon as possible. People cannot see how the parents of the Gasanguseinov brothers suffer," said Elena Yeskina.

Vladimir Putin admitted that he was hearing about the case for the first time, but promised his assistance. The President said he would instruct Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), to investigate the case.

A video from the President Putin's press conference with the question about the killing of the Gasanguseinov brothers and the President Putin's answer was posted by the Dagestani edition "Chernovik" (Draft) on its YouTube channel. In the comments, users thanked the journalist for the question.

"Elena Yeskina, I express you my great gratitude for the fact that you decided to ask such a question to President Putin, and I hope that the case will get off the ground. You are a good person, and I believe that most of Dagestanis who are not indifferent are grateful to you," wrote Vagabova Zulfiya.
