Kremlin responds to Ramzan Kadyrov's statement about lack of money

Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has called Ramzan Kadyrov's statement about the lack of funding for Chechnya a declamation normal for the leader of the region, but suggested addressing the issue to the Russian government.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 13, Ramzan Kadyrov said the Chechen authorities could have done more for the development of the republic if there were no cuts in funding for the Chechen development programme.

"The leaders of regions very often raise questions about the need to increase funding for projects in their territories. The same thing happens with Chechnya. Therefore, this is a normal development issue. There is always not enough money," said Dmitry Peskov as quoted by the TASS.

Let us remind you that subsidies are not the only source of funding for Chechnya. In the republic, all employees of budgetary organizations are to transfer about 10% of their income to charity every month. Meanwhile, when it comes to the activities of the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, then funding of construction of skyscrapers and fights tournaments and fabulous fees to celebrities are mentioned along with ordinary social and economic projects.
