Ingush Council of Teips summons MPs to Sharia Court

Summonses to the sitting of the Sharia Court on the issue of the Ingush-Chechen border will be served to the members of the republic's parliament, the Ingush Council of Teips (family clans) has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 7, the Council of Teips of the Ingush People offered the Chechen authorities to fix the Ingush-Chechen border by means of the Sharia Court. It is also known that on December 6, the Constitutional Court (CC) of Russia, contrary to the verdict of the Ingush CC, found the agreement on the Chechen-Ingush border to be constitutional and legitimate.

"A refusal to take part in the Sharia Court questions the faith of a Muslim; in fact, placing him beyond the bounds of Islam," the TV channel "Glavkov RI" has reported.

The session of the Sharia Court will be held on December 15. The Council of Teips of Ingushetia includes members of more than a hundred family clans.

The statement of the Council of Teips was criticized by pro-government Telegram channels. Thus, the author of the "Papakha Gortsa" (Mountaineer's Hat) channel reminds that many MPs had earlier been announced about their excommunication from the nation, while Ingush oppositionists had evaded the Sharia Court initiated by Ramzan Kadyrov in Chechnya.

"The Sharia Court in a secular state is a castle built of thin air. Its decisions fail to give rise to legal consequences for the authorities," the author of the Telegram channel named Magnum opus has quoted the decision of the Ingush CC on the border issue.
