Azerbaijan reports 27 shelling attacks in the conflict zone

Over the past 24 hours, positions of Azerbaijani militaries were shelled from Armenia and the territories "near the occupied villages," the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

Earlier, on December 8-9, the Azerbaijan MoD recorded 30 shelling attacks on its positions; on December 8-9, the MoD claimed 30 shelling attacks of its positions.

On December 9-10, the ceasefire regime was violated for 27 times, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after on September 28, Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliev, and the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, decided to create a mechanism to prevent ceasefire violations, the tensions in the conflict zone went down. In case of Pashinyan's final advent to power, negotiations are likely to resume; and if Baku fails to see the Armenia's steps they would like to see, further escalation is possible, Johnny Melikyan, a political analyst, believes.
