On Akhmat Kadyrov bridge, activists unfold a banner reading: "It belongs to Ingushetia"

Activists from the "Vesna" art group who hung a banner declared that they had "handed over" to Ingushetia the bridge named after Akhmat Kadyrov to replace the Ingush lands transferred to Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 30, 2016, the Saint Petersburg Toponymic Commission called on to name the bridge across the Duderhof Canal after Akhmat Kadyrov. The decision was criticized by cultural figures, and protests were held in the city.

The activists who unfolded the poster reading: "It belongs to Ingushetia" waved a flag of Ingushetia.

"Today, we have decided to transfer the Akhmat Kadyrov bridge to Ingushetia to make it a part of the republic's property. And we did that without any authorization, just like the bridge got its present name and just like the authorities transferred 26,000 hectares of land from Ingushetia to Chechnya," states the message in the "Nastoyaschiy Lentach" group on the social network "VKontakte".

The agreement on the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia signed on September 26 by Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov provoked mass protests.

On October 30, the Constitutional Court of Ingushetia recognized the law on the border with Chechnya as unconstitutional.
