In the 2nd quarter of 2018, 36 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
In the second quarter of 2018, at least 36 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of them, 30 people were killed and at least other six were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
The death toll of 30 people included 25 people involved, according to the law enforcement bodies, in the activities of the armed underground, two law enforcers, and three civilians. Among six wounded, there were five law enforcers and a civilian.
In the second quarter of 2018, Dagestan was the hottest spot in Northern Caucasus: in the period from April 1 to June 30, at least 15 people fell victim to the armed confrontation. Of them, 14 were killed and another was wounded. According to the law enforcement bodies, all 14 killed people were involved in the armed underground. A law enforcer was wounded.
In the second quarter of 2018, in Chechnya, 11 people fell victim to the armed conflict. Of them, eight were killed and other three were injured. The death toll included two law enforcers, four suspected members of the armed underground, and two civilians. Two law enforcers and a civilian were wounded.
In April-June 2018, in the Stavropol Territory, six people fell victim to the armed conflict, including four suspected militants killed a two law enforcers injured.
In the second quarter of 2018, in Ingushetia, four persons were killed, including three suspected members of the armed underground and a civilian.
In the period from April 1 to June 30, 2018, in Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and the Republic of North Osseia-Alania, no victims to the armed conflict were registered.
