Azerbaijan claims shelling of five villages

Over the past 24 hours, the ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone was violated 28 times, reported the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 8, Azerbaijan registered 30 cases of shelling in the Karabakh conflict zone. Earlier, Nagorno-Karabakh had claimed 150 cases of shelling from the Azerbaijani side from September 30 to October 6.

"Over the past 24 hours, units of the Armenian armed forces used large-calibre machine guns and 28 times violated the ceasefire regime in different directions of the front," the Azerbaijani MoD reports today on its website.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani army came under fire in the territories bordering with Armenia, including in the village of Bala Jafarli in the Gazakh District, in the villages of Agdam, Agbulag, and Mundjuglu in the Tovuz District, and in the village of Zamanly in the Gedabek District.

Today, by 8:55 a.m. Moscow time, the websites of the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have released no information to refute or confirm the report of the Azerbaijani MoD.
