Azerbaijan reports machine-gun shelling of two villages

During the last 24 hours, the truce regime in the Karabakh conflict zone was broken for 30 times, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, Azerbaijan announced 28 bombardments in the Karabakh conflict zone, and a day earlier – about 30 shelling episodes. In its turn, the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh counted 230 acts of shelling from the Azerbaijani side on September 23-29.

On September 28, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan decided to set up an operative communication mechanism to prevent violations of the truce in the Karabakh conflict zone. This agreement has already affected the situation in the conflict zone, Mr Pashinyan said on October 3. The MoD of Azerbaijan confirmed that in early October the intensity of shelling reduced significantly.

This time, the shelling was carried out from the territory of Armenia and from the positions stationed "near the occupied villages," the website of the Azerbaijan MoD reports.
