Protesters demand referendum on Chechen-Ingush border

The issue of the Chechen-Ingush border must be brought to a referendum, and Yunus-Bek Evkurov should resign, said protesters in Magas, the capital of Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on Thursday, October 4, 2018, residents of Ingushetia launched their endless protest action against the agreement on the border with Chechnya. The attempt of the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, to talk to them ended in shooting into the air. Dozens of residents of Ingushetia stayed in a Magas square for the night; activists continue speaking. Some of them have stated that they will leave the square only after Evkurov's resignation.

Let us remind you that, according to the authorities of Ingushetia, the majority of the republic's MPs voted for the ratification of the agreement. After that, Evkurov signed the law on the border with Chechnya.
