Chechen MPs unanimously approve new borders

At the today's session, members of the Chechen parliament have approved the agreement on the Chechen-Ingush border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on securing the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia. Since September 26, in Ingushetia, activists hold protest actions against the change in the Chechen-Ingush border. On October 1, Ramzan Kadyrov requested the opponents of the new Chechen-Ingush border "not to create problems for themselves."

In accordance with the agreement, Chechnya hands over to Ingushetia the agricultural lands in the Nadterechny District, bordering the Malgobek District of Ingushetia, while Ingushetia cedes to Chechnya the territory in the near-border Sunzha District.

It should be noted that today, the session of the Ingush parliament has been held against the background of a mass protest action organized by opponents of the agreement.
