Ingush leader Evkurov refuses to associate agreement on border with Dattykh deposit

In response to the assumptions that the agreement on the border with Chechnya is related to oil production plans, Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov stated that mines of the Dattykh deposit were conserved, while their development was unprofitable.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on securing the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia amid protests that took place in the cities of Sunzha and Magas.

The decision to determine the border with Chechnya "became necessary, since the absence of an agreement on the border gave rise to political provocations from enemies of the people," Yunus-Bek Evkurov said.

The Ingush leader has also added that the people who "want peace and rest for the republic" will support the decision, the "Interfax-South" reports.

Development of the deposit was considered possible before the change of the Ingush leader 10 years ago, noted Aslan Khamkhoev, the former director of the "MalgobekNeft".
