Poland denied asylum to Tumso Abdurakhmanov

The Polish Refugee Council has refused to grant asylum to Tumso Abdurakhmanov, a native of Grozny, although agreed to provide refuge to the blogger's family, Tumso himself has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tumso Abdurakhmanov, put in Russia on the federal wanted list, had tried to seek asylum in Georgia and Poland. According to Chechen law enforcers, Abdurakhmanov was involved in Syrian militants. The blogger asserts he had not been in Syria.

Tumso reported about the asylum denial in social networks. "The Refugee Council, which has considered my appeal against the first refusal, ruled that I would not get any kind of protection; but the Council granted protection to my family," Abdurakhmanov wrote in his Facebook page.

According to the blogger, the refusal was motivated by the recommendation of the National Security Agency (ANB) of Poland, which treated his stay in the country as a threat to its security. "Exactly the same reasoning was in Georgia, which also refused to grant me asylum in this country," Tumso Abdurakhmanov has stated, stressing that he treats the refusals as unjustified.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer.
