Over 150,000 roubles raised for the victims of clashes near Kendelen
Residents of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) and Adygea have raised more than 150,000 roubles to help the Adygs, who suffered in clashes that occurred in the vicinity of the village of Kendelen, Olga Begret, the head of the NGO named "Ochag" (Hearth), has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that KBR activists announced fund-raising for the Adygs who suffered during clashes near Kendelen. The organizers plan to spend the raised money for paying the imposed administrative fines, advocates' fees, judicial costs and expenses related to treatment of victims.
On September 18, residents of the Balkar village of Kendelen did not let participants of the equestrian procession organized in memory of the 310th anniversary of the Kanjali Battle to pass through the village. The refusal provoked clashes. On September 19, clashes between activists and law enforcers took place in the vicinity of Kendelen, in the village of Zayukovo, and at a checkpoint of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in the town of Baksan. According to the activists, as a result of the clash with the police, 45 people were hospitalized and the number of detainees reached 120 people.
The donations arrive at the account of the "Ochag" from KBR residents and from people living in neighbouring regions, although in many cases it is only possible to define the location of senders, Olga Begret told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"We judge by some names that donators are from adjacent republics, in particular, from Adygea," she said, adding that the procedure of money transfer to those in need has not been defined yet, since few of the participants in the events have declared themselves.
