Tumso Abdurakhmanov names 14 convicted Kurchaloi residents

Eight surnames from the list of blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov exactly coincide with the names of those detained 1.5 years ago in the Kurchaloi District of Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 12, residents of Chechnya reported severe sentences awarded to 14 young people convicted for terrorism. Their family members had believed the promises of law enforcers and refrained from making the case public in hope for lenient sentences, convicts' relatives told the "Caucasian Knot".

The sentence to 14 residents of the Kurchaloi District was announced on September 12 at the Supreme Court of Chechnya. They were accused of taking part in an illegal armed formation (IAF) under Article 208, Part 2, and of illegal acquisition and storage of firearms under Article 222.1, Part 3, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. They were convicted for prison terms of 9.5-10.5 years, the "Chechnya Today" News Agency reports.

The convicts were named today by the Chechen blogger and political refugee Tumso Abdurakhmanov. "According to my information, they are Musaev, Djabrailov, Abubakarov, Aliev, Titiev, Dovletukaev, Yusupov, Eldarov, Chimaev, Edilkhanov, Asukhanov, Djabikhadjiev, Shovkhalov and Abuev," Mr Abdurakhmanov wrote in his Facebook page.

Earlier, it was reported that some of the surnames were on the list of 22 detainees in Tsotsi-Yurt, which on January 12, 2017, was published by the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper. Indeed, eight surnames from Abdurakhmanov's list exactly coincide with the surnames from the list of the newspaper, and three other surnames are similar in spelling.

Let us remind you that on January 10, 2017, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the detention in the village of Tsotsi-Yurt of the Kurchaloi District of young people, who "were preparing a series of resonant grave crimes."
