Volgograd: march against pension reform was over 300 people strong (+video)

More than 350 people took part in an unsanctioned march of Alexei Navalny's supporters in Volgograd. At least 16 people were detained; two of them were hospitalized.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that detentions of Navalny's supporters were held in Russian cities, in particular, in Krasnodar and Stavropol, before the announced actions against the pension reform. In Volgograd, where Navalny's supporters announced an unsanctioned protest action, four activists were detained on September 9.

The marchers in Volgograd held posters: "No to pension reform in Russia!", "For Navalny!", "Case against Navalny is case against us!" and "Putin is war and crisis!"

Kirill Fabritsiev, one of the organizers, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that more than 350 protesters had gathered in Lenin Square.

"Our action is legitimate, because Mayoralty failed to provide us with an alternative venue for our request on time," Mr Fabritsiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

When the march was over, men in civilian clothes and law enforcers began detaining activists. Kirill Fabritsiev was taken to a police station among others. He said he had received a trauma during detention.
