Residents of Chechnya tell about detentions of relatives of attackers on law enforcers

Law enforcers have detained relatives of the teens, who attacked policemen, and interrogated friends of the murdered young men, residents of Chechnya have stated. Users of social networks doubt the necessity to shot dead the attackers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that five young militants were killed. The "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, claimed responsibility for the attacks committed on August 20.

The oldest of the attackers was 18 years old, the rest – from 11 to 17.

"The have detained close relatives of the attackers, namely, all the men, including fathers, uncles and cousins," said a relative of one of the casualties.

Local residents did not exclude repressions against attackers' relatives after the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, returns from his Hajj to Mecca.

A video of damnation by Ramzan Musaev of his son aroused a discussion among users. Some of them believe that a father could not damn his son; others called Musaev's actions a shame for the family.

Some have reminded of the practice of collective responsibility applied in Chechnya.

"He said like that to avoid burning down his house," Rudik Akhmadyan believes.

Social network users have also commented on the record of the "Grozny" TV Channel depicting four youngsters armed with knives.

Law enforcers were supposed to detain the teens, not to kill them, Razet, a resident of Grozny, believes. "Why haven't they taken alive at least the 11-year-old boy?" she asked.
