In Western Georgia, dozens of families cut off from outer world by heavy rains

In the Senak Municipality of Georgia, about 70 families were cut off from the outside world: after intense rainfalls, the Tekhura River came out of the banks; and streams of water smashed two bridges.

First, powerful floods damaged, and then completely demolished the bridge connecting the villages of Ledzadzame and Kwauti. On August 10, another bridge was smashed in the village of Ushapati.

In the villages, water flooded ground floors houses, yards and agricultural lands of local residents, the "News-Georgia" Agency has reported.

Heavy rains in Western Georgia lasted for more than 24 hours.
