Law enforcers check information about shooting in Dagestan

Secret services check information about the shelling of a police squad in the Novolaksky District. No information about possible victims is reported, a source reports today.

Residents of the Novolaksky District have reported that a shootout occurred in the vicinity of a village at 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on July 29.

Agents of the secret services are engaged in checking the information about the shelling of policemen. No information about possible victims is available, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source.

Today, by 4:30 p.m. Moscow time, no information about the shootout in the Novolaksky District was reported on the websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported about special activities in Derbent, launched on July 26 after law enforcers got the information about militants hiding in one of the apartments of an apartment building. Later, the law enforcement bodies reported that the special activities were conducted as part of the investigation into a criminal case against a tenant of the building.
