Law enforcers declare attackers on policemen in to be the last Dagestani militants

The killing of two policemen in the Kizilyurt District was committed by the last grouping of militants, active in Dagestan, said a source from the republic's law enforcement bodies. The spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) did not confirm the information that a reward of one million roubles has been assigned for the capture of these militants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a DPS (road-and-patrol service) car was shelled in the evening on July 20 on the "Kavkaz" Highway in the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan; the attackers managed to escape in a Lada car. It was reported that two of the three policemen in the car were killed, and the third one was wounded. The "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack on the DPS car in the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan was committed by a grouping of natives of the village of Endirey, Khasavyurt District, the only active grouping of militants in the republic, a law enforcement source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"This is the only grouping not yet liquidated in Dagestan. Earlier, they had already made an explosion of a ziyarat in the cemetery of the village of Novo-Chirkei," said the source.

According to the source, the grouping consists of six militants. Five of them – brothers Shamil and Musa Bilalov, Abas Khubaev Marat Alinchiev and Dagir Gadjiev – are natives of the village of Endirey, while the sixth member, Ali Demilkhanov, is a native of the Kurchaloy District of Chechnya. Gadjiev is the youngest in the grouping; he is 19 years old. All the six are suspected of participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF), the source has explained.

The explosion at the tomb of Sheikh of Chirkei is a sign of agony of the armed underground in Dagestan, said the analysts, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".
