Heart diseases smite Chechnya
A great number of adult residents of Chechnya have heart diseases. Doctors also mention that this rate is on the rise among children.
"Seventy-two thousand people in the republic have various heart diseases. This is a huge figure, especially considering that not all sick people are registered," a republican Health Ministry official told Caucasian Knot. "Such diseases are very expensive to treat, so few can count to be cured."
"Children with heart diseases number 1,300 in Chechnya currently. The situation here is also critical, but now the parents of such children can be hopeful. A British humanitarian organisation has started work in Moscow, and it is ready to provide assistance in treating sick children. People from our republic now can apply directly there," he says.
