20 people suffer from record heat in Baku

From the early summer, 49 people addressed the Baku City Emergency Medical Service with complaints of sunstrokes. Doctors recommend people to drink more water when the weather is hot, and weather forecasters predict a new increase in air temperature.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 1, in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the air temperature reached 43-44°C. This is a record indicator for air temperature during 120 years of observations.

On July 1, 20 people complained of sunstrokes, the Baku City Emergency Medical Service reports today.

"Since the beginning of the summer season, 49 people appealed for medical aid with symptoms of sunstroke, including headache, apathy, and high body temperature. Of them, 20 people requested medical aid yesterday, on July 1. Outpatient care was provided to 21 people. The remaining 28 patients were hospitalized with the diagnosis of 'sunstroke of moderate impact.' All the patients were provided with the necessary medical care and sent home," an officer of the Baku City Emergency Medical Service told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
