Law enforcers are conducting counterterrorist operation (CTO) in a mountainous area and introduced the CTO regime in a part of the Tsumadin District of Dagestan, including the dwelling settlements of Kvanada and Gimerso, said a source from the Operational Headquarters in Dagestan of the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The CTO regime in the Tsumadin District has been introduced for the second time this year; and in the republic, this CTO is the seventh in 2018.

For the first time in 2018, the CTO regime was introduced in the Tsumadin District on March 3. In search of militants and their helpers, law enforcers screened a forest; no active operations were carried out. On March 14, the CTO regime was cancelled; no results were reported.

Before that, the CTO regime was in force in the Tsumadin District from January 31 to February 4, 2017. Members of the armed underground and their helpers were searched for within the territory of the villages of Kvanada and Gimerso. No results of that CTO were reported by law enforcers.
