IS* claims responsibility for blowing up Sheikh of Chirkei's tomb

A bombing of the tomb of Said-Afandi Chirkei has become the second incident in Dagestan since early 2018, the responsibility for which was claimed by the "Islamic State"*.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that tonight, in the Dagestani village of Chirkei, a room for ziyarat near the tomb of Sheikh Said Chirkei was blown up. The suspects were caught by surveillance cameras and already detained, a source reports.

The Caucasian grouping of the 'Islamic State'* has claimed responsibility for the explosion of the tomb of the Sufi Sheikh Said-Afandi Chirkei in Dagestan, the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors the online activities of terrorist groupings has reported today.

The resource did not provide evidence of involvement of the IS* in the incident.

For the first time in 2018, the IS* claimed responsibility for the attack on believers of the Orthodox Church in Kizlyar on February 18. Then, a man who shot dead five persons and wounded four others was killed and identified as 22-year-old Khalil Khalilov. In the period from September 2015 until 2018, the IS* took responsibility ten times for various armed incidents in Dagestan.
